Gary Purdue
Gary Purdue is a fully qualified PGA golf professional with wide experience in teaching and international competitive play. He has specialised in coaching youth teams with considerable success and has run highly profitable driving ranges and golf schools. Beginning his career as an Assistant Professional at Fulford Golf Club in 1997, he gained his professional PGA qualifications and moved to GC Enzesfeld, Vienna, Austria in 1984. Following spells as a teaching professional at Golf and Land Club Regensburg in Germany and GC Brunn am Gebirge in Austria he took a year out in 1991 as a playing professional on the Asian PGA Tour, Florida Space Coast Tour and European Challenge Tour. Since then he has held posts of Head Professional at GC Linz St Florian, Linzer GC Luftenberg, and been involved in teaching programmes including The Golf Workshop, Moosburg, and at GC Austria Wörthersee. He has been a Member of the Education Committee of the PGA of Austria since 1997.
Gary joined Creative Golf Design in 2002 to assist with the development of projects in Central Europe and has helped to develop masterplans for new golf projects in Austria and Slovakia. He combines his considerable experience as a professional golfer and design knowledge gained via attending a Professional Diploma course in Golf Course Architecture run by the European Institute of Golf Course Architects. His golf teaching knowledge is particularly useful when it comes to the development of top-class golf academies and practice facilities.
Gary is based in Linz in Austria and speaks fluent German.
