| NEW GOLF COURSES |
 |
|
Creative Golf Design is
currently working on the design of new golf developments throughout
Europe including Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Sweden, Holland & the
UK. Some examples of these are shown below.
|
| New Championship Links Course for the Marine Golf Club, Sylt, GERMANY |
|

|
CGD
has designed a championship course for the Marine Golf Club which
recently opened on the island of Sylt, in Germany. Sylt sits in
the northern-most part of the country, very close to the border with
Denmark, and is very popular with the wealthy German holidaymaker. The
project presents the rare opportunity to create a new links course in
these days of environmental sensitivity.

The land
was flattened during the war for use as a landing strip for aircraft
and the construction of the golf course has therefore require
large-scale earthworks to create large dunes, of up to 4m in height,
and to reinstate the ecological habitats which had previously existed.
Approximately 300,000m3 of soil was moved.

New 18 Hole Championship Golf Course at Drienovec, SLOVAKIA
Golf is still in its infancy
in Slovakia and this will be one of the first golf courses in the
country. The site is attractive contoured, with some areas of mature
woodland and a river running through part of the planned course. Water
features on a number of the holes and the back nine in particular.
The project is in the early
stages of planning and Gary Purdue, CGD’s Central European
representative, is assisting with the development.

New Training Headquarters for PGA of Austria, Schladming, AUSTRIA
Creative Golf Design is
working with the PGA of Austria to create a new training centre for
their members, the national golf team. The centre will also be open to
the general public and consists of a high quality, double ended driving
range with target greens, three practice holes, a short-game practice
area and large putting green.
The central focus of the
development will be a 400-bedroom golf & ski hotel hotel which will
make use of the ski season to attract hotel guests when the golf season
ends.

| The hotel
incorporates eight first floor Golf-Fun Suites that feature a
balcony-terrace with a practice tee, enabling driving range use
directly from the hotel rooms, based on a concept already in use at a
hotel/driving range in Switzerland. It will also include self-contained
PGA of Austria offices that feature an indoor putting green, swing
simulator, and 300-seater seminar room. |

Kevin Duggan Golf Academy, Stockwood Park, Luton, UK
This was a very interesting
project involving the development of a 9-hole short golf course (or
pitch and putt) for a charity, representing disadvantaged children, in
partnership with the local authority who own the adjacent 18-hole golf
course at Stockwood Park.
The charity, run by Declan
Duggan, paid for the construction of the course in exchange for up to
50% use, while the Council provided the land and will maintain the
facility. The course has been designed with par three holes of 50-100
yards in length to encourage junior golf and opened for play in May
2005.
