inspiration from the best of the classic golf courses and combining this
with innovative ideas and state-of-the-art construction techniques, the golf course design

Client brief.
PHILOSOPHY
The principle philosophy of the practice is
to design golf courses which promote the enjoyment of the game of golf.
We believe that it is the architect’s role to produce the
best course possible for the site within the budgetary constraints of
the project. By sensitive, skillful and inspirational design, a rather
ordinary piece of land can be transformed into a golf course of
distinctive quality and character. We do not believe in simply imposing
the golf course on the landscape but instead working with it and
enhancing the natural qualities of the land where they are worth
preserving. This approach is in harmony with the principles of
sustainable golf development which will find favour with planners and
environmental groups, thereby easing the permiting procedures.
However, we do not shrink
from large-scale earthworks when they are required in
order to produce a top-class golf course. We can harness
our skills in contour design and landscape architecture
to create a naturalistic landscape which contains a diversity
of golfing interest.
